Yes. Dispensary shake can be worth buying.
Especially if you’re on a budget.
But not all shake is the same.
One dispensary might sell something I’d smoke all day.
Another might sell something I wouldn’t touch.
That’s why it helps to know what you’re actually buying.
What Is Dispensary Shake?
Shake is loose cannabis that breaks off larger buds.
It can include little pieces of bud, leaf, trichomes, and tiny hairs.
Trim
Trim is the leaf that gets cut away from cannabis buds during harvesting and manicuring.
Some of those leaves will still have trichomes on them.
When a bag of shake is mostly trim, you can usually tell.
It looks leafy.
It can look dusty.
It can smell like hay.
And in my experience, it usually doesn’t taste very good either.
Natural Shake
Natural shake is the stuff that breaks off the buds on its own.
It’s what you usually find sitting at the bottom of a bag of buds.
I’m calling it natural shake here to keep things clear.
I want you to understand every type of shake.
Not just what you see at a dispensary.
Ground Flower
Ground flower is exactly what it sounds like.
It’s cannabis flower that’s been ground up.
It can also have some trim mixed in.
Does Shake Weed Get You High?
Yes. Shake weed can get you high af.
How high depends on your tolerance and the quality of the shake.
Even trim can still have enough trichomes on it to get you high.
So yes, shake weed can definitely get you high.
Why Does Shake Have a Bad Reputation?
Shake has a bad reputation because a lot of cheap shake is mostly trim.
And trim sucks.
It can be dry.
It can smell like hay.
And it usually tastes like shit.
That’s probably what a lot of people think of when they hear the word shake.
Shake vs Trim: What’s the Difference?
When I’m comparing shake vs trim, I’m talking about the shake you actually want to smoke.
Trim is mostly leaf.
The easiest way to tell is to look.
If all you see is chopped-up leaf and it looks dusty, you probably got trim.
Good shake should look different.
If you see clumpy chunks and lots of trichomes, that’s a good sign.
Check the smell too.
If it smells good and looks chunky, that’s usually a good sign.
That’s what you want.
Ground Flower vs Shake: What’s the Difference?
When people compare ground flower vs shake, they’re usually talking about what dispensaries sell as shake.
Ground flower is cannabis buds that have been ground up. It can also have some trim mixed in.
Shake can be a mix of smaller flower pieces and leaf.
Or it can be mostly leaf.
That’s why it can be confusing.
If the shake has more flower in it, that’s usually the better stuff.
If it’s mostly leaf and dust, you’re looking at trim.
When Should You Buy Shake?
Buy shake when you’re trying to get high on a budget.
If the dispensary has good shake with plenty of flower in it, buy that shit.
Buy it when you’re rolling big blunts or joints.
Buy it when you’re doing bong hits.
And buy it when you know you’re going to smoke a lot of weed.
That’s when shake makes sense.
When Shouldn’t You Buy Shake?
Don’t buy shake just because it’s cheap.
If it smells bad, like hay, I wouldn’t buy it.
If it’s mostly leaf and really dusty, I’m passing on that too.
And if it looks old and dried out, leave it alone.
Is Dispensary Shake Worth Buying?
Yes. Dispensary shake can be worth buying.
You just have to know what you’re getting.
Shake can save you a lot of money.
And depending on how much you smoke, that can make a big difference.
For me, it’s definitely worth buying.
